CRPxO ransomware

CRPxO (also written CRPx0) is a Python-based file-encrypting strain sold as a builder kit and spread through fake verification pages, lure archives and standalone loaders. Victims find files renamed with a .crpx0 suffix, a desktop wallpaper bearing the group name, and recovery instructions saved as HOW TO RECOVER.txt or as a browser page carrying a 48-hour countdown. Beyond encryption, the same payload swaps copied cryptocurrency addresses, captures wallet recovery phrases and uploads documents before locking anything, so any affected host should be treated as a data-theft incident. Claimed victims span healthcare, finance and technology, though many leak-site entries remain unverified. Payment is requested in Monero or Bitcoin, with negotiation over Tox, Session and a Tor portal.

File extensions: .crpx0

Ransom note filenames: HOW TO RECOVER.html, HOW TO RECOVER.txt

Decryptor: Decryptor availability has not been recorded.
